In groups we had to design a photo shoot for a coat. The twist was we did not know what the coat looked like and we wouldn’t know until the day of the shoot; so we had to make sure our shoot was fairly neutral. As a group we brainstormed to come up with an original idea, we decided on living shop mannequins trapped in the shop window, wanting to escape. So we looked at locations, hair and make up, chose a model, did a test shoot and finally did the photo shoot with the coats we had been allocated.
This is a story board of the styling project. In my 'real life' portfolio this is split over two portait A4 pages.
This was the photograph we chose as our final piece, it is very abstract and interesting to look at. This was also displayed on the university stand at the Clothes Show Live. I editted the photograph to eliminate imperfections like paint and dust on the window pane.
These are some of the other photographs we really liked but didn’t use: I really like Emily’s expression and the colours in this one and the next one.
This one shows the window more clearly and our models trying to escape from inside. Again, I really like how the reflection from outside obscures the photograph and makes it very abstract.
